Because at the Funcross Race Obergurgl everybody, who loves rushing down a challenging track and wants to add some action to the skiing day, is welcome. And the Funcross Obergurgl definitely doesn’t lack action. Snowboarders and skiers, divided into the categories men, women and under 14, will proof their skill on snow waves, steep turns and jumps. The race starts at 10 am and runs until 2 pm and has neither age limits, nor does it require race experience. What all participants should have though, is control over snowboard and skis, as well as fun while taking part at the race. Because, even though there are prices to win, the motto is the same as at the Olympic Winter Games in South Korea: Taking part is everything!
The registration starts at 10 am, runs until the end of the race at 2 pm and will be located directly at the start of the Funcross Obergurgl. There, all racers get a sticker for their registration data, which will be needed to take part at the race. Because the Funcross Race isn´t finished after just one run, from 10 am to 2 pm every participant can race through the course as many times as he or she wants to. That way, all racers can get to know the Funcross and its challenges first, and then gear up and compete for victory and cool prizes along with other motivated sportsmen and women.
As in every race, the first, second and third racer in every category of the Funcross Race will be rewarded for their sporty performance. In total, the winners can get an overall prize money of 600€ and giveaways from Funcross,´and Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. But not only the fastest ones will get something at the Funcross Race. At the price giving after the race, every single participant will get a little gift for taking part.
After several runs through the Funcross, even the strongest legs will get weak and therefore need a break at some point. In order to give those exhausted muscles their well-earned break, tables and benches will be put up at the finish area. There, tired contestants or interested viewers can have a seat and enjoy the racing atmosphere. Besides the atmosphere, there are snacks and drinks for free to enjoy as well, in order to recharge the energy tanks for the next runs. After all, no race was won on an empty stomach, right?
On March 8 in 2018, winter loving sportsmen, -women and kids can experience race action for everyone.
